Who should go to compete? Students of Master Gohring who have competed in tournaments before.
I don't believe there will be many competitors. I know there are only about 60 competitors total, as of this writing, so it is likely you would place 1st, 2nd or 3rd if you do compete. I expect the organization level to be just adequate and that is why I do not recommend my students who have not competed before to go. However, many experienced judges are going to be there so that should compensate a bit for "new tournament" challenges.
Who should go to spectate? Any of Master Gohring's students and friends of students. I still think it will be exciting enough to justify the ticket price, which I think is $20 a day. There will be live music, lots of different martial arts competitions and demonstrations not to mention that the J.K. Wong Academy (http://www.taijilegacy.com) is bring down their Lion Dancing Team. I am not pushing this one hard because I am protective of my students and don't want to push you if it isn't positively going to be great. I expect it to be ok. Hopefully it will.
